Peter Revson shunned family wealth to make his mark as a racing driver. Born heir in 1939 to the Revlon cosmetics fortune, he took up amateur racing, a passon that led him to Europe in 1963. Unaided by his family fortune, Revson lived out of a transport truck that carried his car. An opportunity to compete in open-wheel racing led to a string of successes, including victory in the 1963 Monaco Formula 3 Grand Prix.
