Description

The Cobalt replaced the Cavalier compact car that was definitely overdue for retirement. As with the ‘Cav,’ the Cobalt was available in both two-door coupe and four-door sedan formats. Initial base models were equipped with the 145-148 horsepower 2.2-liter four-cylinder engine, while a 205-horsepower 2.0-liter supercharged four-cylinder came in the more robust SS coupe.

What is Auto Edit?

Welcome to AutoEdit, a new and slightly more irreverent weekly feature from Wheelbase Media.
Rather than your pages being a collection of random auto stories, the AutoEdit feature is intended to be the glue that holds it all together. Just as your editorial page is intended to be the pulse of your newspaper, Auto Edit can also be the pulse of your auto pages.

Auto edit runs 500-550 words and is all about your readers becoming more familiar with our key staff members via their personal views on the automotive world. Of all 18 of our weekly features, AutoEdit is the only one intended to provide weekly commentary. Journalistically speaking, this is just common sense since such commentary does not belong in our other news-type features.

Whether your readers agree or disagree with what’s written, they’ll know exactly how the writers of AutoEdit stand on their chosen topics. And, quite frankly, a little spirited debate is a healthy thing and that seems to be missing from more and more newspapers these days. AutoEdit is all about soul, getting back to the basics of solid content and showing readers that there are real people behind the nine-point typeface.

Story Intro

The undisputed leader in gasoline-electric vehicles has a surprise for people who would deride so-called ‘green’ cars.
The all-new Toyota Prius Prime plug-in does what it’s intended to do and does it in a way that actually makes it fun to drive.
For the uninitiated, plug-in hybrids are designed to operate for short distances on battery power alone. How short? The previous plug-in Prius was good for a maximum of 11 miles of electric-only operation, but would only make it that far with a very gentle application of the throttle.

Story Intro

You’re not likely to find too many Armadas crossing your path in this era of car-based tall wagons (a.k.a. crossovers). But that’s not too surprising when you think of the full-size, off-road-capable Nissan’s specific skill set that includes comfortably transporting you and up to seven acquaintances plus perhaps a very large trailer.
Despite what you might think, there are buyers who want a big, boxy, body-on-frame machine like the Armada and its small knot of competitors.

Description

If you have never heard of Ken Tyrrell, it’s a good bet you have heard of the drivers he helped make famous.
He was the team owner who launched the racing career of three-time Formula One champion Jackie Stewart. He made Italian F1 driver Michele Alboreto. He found Martin Brundle and countless others.
You could say that Tyrrell had an eye for talent.
He was to racing what the unrecognized, hard-working, drive-through-the-night scout is for the best teams in major-league baseball.
