Description
Born in 1866 to a family of hard-working farmers, Herbert Austin kept the machines humming at the Wolseley Sheep Shearing Company in England. In his spare time, however, he built an experimental three-wheeled car with a two-cylinder engine. By 1900, his three-horsepower, single-cylinder two-seat carriage could travel 100 miles without stopping. He founded the Austin Motor Company in 1905 and received his first orders at the 1905 London Motor Show.
