Description

The Ford Mustang wasn’t meant to be a sports car, however the limited-production 1969-’70 Boss 302 Mustang was specifically created to counter Chevrolet’s efforts in Trans Am road racing. Beginning in 1967, the Camaro Z/28 was king of the track. With a push from Ford company President Bunkie Knudsen, performance head Jacque Passino was charged with putting the Mustang back in the winner’s circle.

Description

The one-year wonder Superbird was specifically built to win NASCAR stock-car races on the high-banked speedways of places such as Daytona Beach, Fla. But why would anyone want to drive something as oddly configured and awkwardly shaped as the Superbird on the street? Chrysler actually had no choice but to build it. In the late 1960’s NASCAR rules required that for a stock-car race car to be truly considered a “stock” vehicle, a minimum of one car for every two dealerships had to be produced.
