Description
The one-year wonder Superbird was specifically built to win NASCAR stock-car races on the high-banked speedways of places such as Daytona Beach, Fla. But why would anyone want to drive something as oddly configured and awkwardly shaped as the Superbird on the street? Chrysler actually had no choice but to build it. In the late 1960’s NASCAR rules required that for a stock-car race car to be truly considered a “stock” vehicle, a minimum of one car for every two dealerships had to be produced.
