Roof-rack systems are handy for moving cargo, canoes, bikes and sports equipment. Loading and unloading is difficult without a ladder, however, as is washing the roofs of tall vans and utility vehicles. The Utility Step hooks to the front door latch of virtually every car and truck made over the last 40-plus years, which literally give you a step up to the roof.

People who own older-model automobiles are no longer stuck playing their worn-out cassettes through the original-equipment audio systems. A modern solution is at hand with the Cassette Adaptor Bluetooth from Ion Sound Experiences. The system looks just like a regular audio cassette, but when inserted into the appropriate slot, it’s Bluetooth receiver, so long as the rechargeable battery inside is topped up (the manufacturer claims it should last for about six hours).

For campers who would prefer sleeping above ground level, Roofnest has a number of solutions. For example, the Sparrow pop-up hard-shell tent attaches to the roofs of most small and midsize utility vehicles and station wagons. And its 80-inch length, 53-inch width and 37-inch height (when opened) means it will comfortably sleep two adults.

When it comes to piloting radio-controlled models, arguably the most fun you can have are those with giant knobby tires and trick suspensions for tackling rocks, sand and gravel. Redcat Racing has a vast assortment of such vehicles, plus all the necessary parts and accessories youÕll need to keep them running.

No two auto bike racks are exactly the same, as evidenced by the Talon bicycle rack from SeaSucker. The product’s extra-strong vacuum suction cups hold your two-wheeled ride firmly on top of your vehicle’s roof or trunk, or hanging from the liftgate window. But the best part is that the Talon attaches without the need for a conventional roof rack. When not in use, the suction cups can be stored away in a small bag.

A cool novelty item for the wine (and truck) lover is a classic carrier from The Busted Knuckle Garage that can hold most standard-size bottles. The plastic-resin models are made to resemble Chevrolet and GMC pickups from the early 1950s. There are also protective pads attached to each wheel so they won’t scratch table surfaces.

JPS Motorsports creates realistic-looking replicas of the 1957 Porsche Speedster (roadster) in standard and flared body styles, but the company also builds a version of an early 1955-’59 Porsche 356A coupe. Autodromo, the watchmaker that specializes in automotive-themed timepieces and other accessories, has introduced a new watch that pays homage to the iconic Ford GT sports car. In fact it embodies both the 1960s original (called the GT40) and the current $450,000 limited-edition GT that’s made almost entirely of carbon fiber. The officially licensed Chronograph has a 40-millimeter-diameter case and uses a Japan-made Seiko quartz movement.

Making everyday items out of car parts isn’t new, but the clocks made by race mechanic/engineer Nathan O’Dell of Manchester, England, are definitely unusual. Each one is encased in a component from various (but actual) Formula One racecar wheel hubs. O’Dell also includes the actual part number stamped into the metal for verification and provenance purposes.

Few people will ever own or even ride in an exotic supercar such as the McLaren 570S, but at least tiny tykes aged 3 and under can have that experience in the ride-on version from Step2. The company has teamed up with McLaren to create this neat sidewalk roadster with some very handy features that include dual (sippy) cupholders, a storage area beneath the seat and, best of all, electronic McLaren engine revving sounds.
