Description
For 2006, Buick replaced its full-size LeSabre and Park Avenue with a brand new model. Physically, the Cadillac DTS-based Lucerne was longer, wider and taller than the LeSabre and had room for six passengers (five if you opted for bucket seats in place of the standard front bench). Base CX and CXL models came with a 197-horsepower 3.8-liter V6, while Cadillac’s 4.6-liter “Northstar” V8 with 275-292 horses was optional in the CXL and standard in the full-load CXS and Super. For 2009 a 227-horsepower 3.9-liter V6 replaced the 3.8 as standard. A four-speed automatic transmission with either a column- or floor-mounted shifter was fitted to all. Both the Lucerne and the Cadillac DTS were retired after the 2011 model year.
